What is my password?

What is Automatic Session Timeout?

Whenever your session remains inactive (you don't request any pages) for longer than a certain amount of time, you will be logged out automatically. This time limit is for your own safety, preventing anyone else from seeing or changing your information. It covers you if you happen to leave your computer without logging out properly. If the session expires on you and sends you to the logout message page, you may simply enter again as many times as you wish. The system will assign a new session to you; anything you did earlier is saved by the system. You will not lose your work in progress.

I am getting slow response to my queries. What is the problem?

There are a number of conditions that might affect your response time in WebAdvisor. Often an increase in the response time is related to traffic over the communication lines. Depending upon your location, WebAdvisor uses your campus Intranet, the Internet or both. The number of users on any portion of those systems will often slow the response time for everyone. Downloading large files via Shenandoah University's communications lines will drastically increase response time for all other users on the system. High levels of WebAdvisor use by other members of Shenandoah University also affect your response time. This is caused not only by increased user traffic, but also by the additional processing required of Shenandoah University's host machine to respond to WebAdvisor queries. An example of a high-use time period would be during Shenandoah University's web registration period. You may also experience slower performance during peak usage periods for your Internet Service Provider (ISP).

I am getting a blank search result page in IE. What is the problem?

Depending on the speed of your machine and the load on the WebAdvisor server it can take upto 60second for a complicated screen to load. If you feel that you have waited 60 seconds please hit the F5 button to attempt to refresh the page. If you hit the back button you may end up doing the same process twice, registering for the same class, paying for a class, entering a grade, or other process a second time so using the back button is not recomended in webadvisor.

The page cannot be displayed?

WebAdvisor should be logging the user in and bringing up the WebAdvisor main menu. If you access WebAdvisor from your office's network, contact your network administrator regarding your access. WebAdvisor site URL is https://webadv.su.edu/wa/main. If you access from your home's network, contact your Internet Service Provider (ISP).
